Vocal Group “Shemesh”

Vocal Group “Shemesh” was organized in December of 2005 in the Jewish Charitable Fund “Beiteinu-Our Home.” Its primary goal is to save, and increase the riches of the Jewish musical culture. In the repertoire of ensemble are songs in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian and Ukrainian languages. Since the establishment of the ensemble it has successfully participated in many community and city wide performances related to Jewish holidays and traditions. In 2007, the group released a musical album “Clouds.”

“Music-fest”

Children with their parents are engaged in playful singing, rhythmics, and learn how to play on various musical instruments. During lessons - elements of puppet shows are used, musical therapy, where children use natural materials such as rocks, chestnuts, shells, etc. In addition they learn relaxation techniques, how to listen, and hear music and each other. The program includes musical productions with themes from Jewish fairytales. The whole family participates - both children, and parents, grandmothers, and grandfathers. "Music-fest" is a natural development of our previous studio "My Family’s Music”, which was awarded with international prize of Charles Hoffman.

Art Studio

By drawing a child learns about the world and creates its own, the lessons in our art studio will help children with that. We will tell them about paint, about color and lines, will teach them about world art. Children under 11-12 years old should not be taught academic art. It is more important to impart taste, love of art, understanding of form and color, to keep pleasure of creativity which is inherent in all children. In addition we teach batik, a traditional form of painting on fabric.

Theatre-studio “The City of Festive Gatherings”

Since 2004 a creative cooperation has been established between the Center and theatre-studio “The City of Festive Gatherings”, which has been created in 1996 by young artist Sergey Enenberg. “Beiteinu” became the basis for the theatre’s creativity sessions and rehearsals.

Sergey Enenberg: Psychological Theater is the basis for our experiences in creating the moment’s mythology through the language of theater. Joyful and horrific miracles make our lives bright. To learn, to deeply live the moment, and always feel the miracle of life is the key to the “art of life” and creation of personal life mystery”. The theater troupe has staged and performed 16 plays by classical and contemporary authors, particularly:
The theater is recognized by Kiev State Department of Culture and Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture. In addition, the theater has been recognized by international theater festival “Wondering Stars” and received a number of grants from international organizations.
